World Ending in 12 years? was created by jomarch
Just heard something about the world ending in 12 years because of global warming and the only way to save it is by getting rid of planes and cows. Anyone know if this is true?

We had a few hot days last summer. I was told it was a sign of global warming. Then we had some cold days this winter. I was told that was also due to global warming. The other day the weather was pleasant-not too hot, not too cold, mild really. I was told that was a sure sign of global warming.

This is not a joke. The polar ice caps are melting. Thousands of arctic animals are dying. In 12 years we will be under sea. Its science. if your reading this stop everything you're doing and watch this video by Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

No, the world won’t necessarily end in 12 years because of global warming since carbon dioxide made up five times more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere in the Jurassic Period (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) than are present in the atmosphere today. The world didn't end then, and it won't end in 12-years if the US federal government doesn't enact very severe laws to enforce conservation.
Additionally, nothing mankind can do for good or ill can completely change the climate short of setting off a nuclear war because the sun itself goes through warming periods and cooling periods. For example, the Earth was going through a cooling period when George Washington crossed the Delaware in 1776, and Mary Shelley wrote Frankenstein in the summer without a sun (1816). More sunspots correspond with the sun’s warming while the absence of sunspots indicates the sun is cooling. “The sun is entering one of the deepest Solar Minima of the Space Age,” since “Sunspots have been absent for most of 2018 and Earth’s upper atmosphere is responding.”
Moreover, some of the measures advocated for reducing one’s carbon footprint have major flaws:
o Driving an electric car reduces one’s carbon footprint only if the same car is charged with clean electricity (from solar panels on the roof of a house or building).
o Wind energy and solar energy require the use of fossil fuels for periods that aren’t windy or sunny.
o There still isn’t a way to produce jet fuel that isn’t petroleum based. While public transportation (subways, buses, and trains) uses less fuel than private cars, it still uses carbon-based fuel. Using public transportation is also not really possible for much of flyover country, so that means the population will need to be herded into cities to ensure that everyone takes the bus.
o It’s also going to be hard to wean the public totally off eating beef and dairy products. Indeed, overall meat consumption has risen in recent years in the U.S., the European Union, and developed world; and in the US, 58 percent of the meat consumed is red meat (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3045642/). Given that an increased intake of beef and processed meats raises the risk for cancer and heart disease, the public is more likely to cut down on beef consumption if the media plays up the healthy benefits of eating more fish and chicken as well as opting for occasional vegetarian meal.
o Finally, by pushing the savings that accompany energy efficient heating and air-conditioning units, insultation, and water-efficient toilets, dishwashers, and faucets, the public is more likely to reduce carbon emissions.
o Meanwhile, China and India have larger carbon footprints than the US, and Al Gore and Meghan Markle fly in private jets while AOC takes Uber SUV’s instead of taking the subway.

Evie, I didn't know about the year without a sun in 1816 when Mary Shelly wrote Frankenstein. What a terrible summer!
I read that this was because of a volcano that erupted in the East Indies. This seems like more of an anomalie than the man-made trend of global warming that people are talking about.
Beto O' Rourke just said that scientists are "absolutely unanimous" that the world is ending in 12 years. Watch around the 1:53 minute mark:
Nasa's site also agrees.
Nasa
Then I looked at this chart on the same Nasa page and was shocked. It said that "For centuries, atmospheric carbon dioxide had never been above this line." And you can see that current increase is really alarming.
After reading all this, I'm sure you'll agree that this is this generations world war 2.

Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are extremely likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position.

The Green New Deal lost in the senate 57-0, lol. And crazy Bernie did'nt even vote for it.
We've heard all this before. Remember Al Gore saying Florida would be under water by 2014? Then he went and bought a Florida beach house. He only put up solar panels because the neighbors complained he was using too much energy.
