While giving a critique of the 1935 film adaptation of 'Anne of Green Gables,' Lucy Maud Montgomery dropped this interesting insight:

"...I am devoutly thankful that they did not end the story with a long lingering kiss between Anne and Gilbert. Had they done so I would have risen up and shrieked!"


But wait... Isn't that how Sullivan's Anne of Avonlea ended on that bridge? :P
