My Aunt recently told me I absolutely have to watch the 80's Megan Follows Anne of Green Gables version again (hoping it will change my opinion). After watching the beautifully depicted and brilliantly produced 'Anne with An E', the 80's version was like watching a bigoted, intolerant, and white washed version of the past.

I read somewhere that Sarah Polley said that the Sullivan shows were a "white man's fantasy". I have to agree with this. So far "Anne with an E" has over 6 lesbian characters and minorities (something the intolerant 80's show conveniently ignored). I'm excited for the future of "Anne with an E." It is the most accurate adaptation of Anne of Green Gables to date. Montgomery would be proud!
